School to School Support

School to School Support

Our lead schools within the Alliance (St Lawrence CEP Hurstpierpoint and Hassocks Infant School) have, for many years, supported schools. Now that they are designated Teaching Schools, they are able to extend this to impact more schools. We believe in supporting schools by creating solutions that are personal to each school, there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution and it is important to fully understand and evaluate different school dynamics before helping to bring about change.

We also have seven SLE’s who can be deployed directly into schools.

Initial Teacher Training (IIT)

Initial Teacher Training (IIT)

Our Alliance, using School Direct and other training routes, leads the development of school-led training and takes an active role in the recruitment and selection of trainees.

Our clear plan for teacher training is based on learning from outstanding practice. Mentor training is available. If you are interested in training to become a teacher please click here.

Development of SLE's

Development of SLE’s

As a Teaching School Alliance we identify and support those who wish to become SLE’s. This, in turn, enables us to deploy these highly skilled staff into areas of need. SLE’s have a central role in developing a self-improving and sustainable school-led system.

Research and Development

Research and Development

Our alliance is committed to working together to find new solutions to shared problems. The Alliance will support research and development. This page will provide an area for sharing information about the innovation projects being led by the schools in our Alliance.

Development of School Leaders

Development of School Leaders

We are passionate about the future of education and, in turn, passionate about creating future leaders for our children’s schools. We aim to identify and develop people to fill leadership positions in the future. We also run the highly successful NPQML (accredited by the IoE) programme to support and inspire those in middle leadership positions. We hope to extend this to Senior leaders in the future. St Lawrence also work with the local diocese to develop and support new Headteachers in their role by holding training days and seminars.
